The very first time I heard about blockchain. I thought, “Oh my gosh, the Igniting Souls Tribe, and even friends and family—they’ve got to hear about this!” Many people think blockchain is just for cryptocurrency. They think only certain types of people in specialized industries should care about it. That’s what I thought at first too. But the more I learned about it, the more I realized that every industry is going to be affected by blockchain and that it is for everyone.
Blockchain Explained Simply
Blockchain, to put it simply, is a decentralized ledger or database that keeps track of information by connecting a bunch of different computers all over the world. The “blocks” are groups of information. w\When a block is full, another block is added, creating a “chain.” The big difference between blockchain and other ways of storing information is how the information is grouped together in these blocks, which are each given their own timestamp in the ledger, and strung together in chains. And because blockchain is a decentralized, global ledger, it offers security of information without there being one central entity that controls the ledger.
Why Should Authors, Entrepreneurs and Influencers Care About This Technology?
Sounds like pretty high-level stuff, right? It can be. But it’s also a simply powerful technology that is going to revolutionize the way that information is stored and shared on the next generation of the Internet.
So why should you care?
If you are an author, speaker, creative, or really anyone who creates your own intellectual property—blockchain is going to change the way royalties work, the way you and everyone know that information that belongs to you is yours, and so much more.
When information, cryptocurrency, or ownership of something changes hands on the blockchain, every computer or “node” in the network has a record of that.
Blockchain Technology Is About Information Sharing
While blockchain started as a way to decentralize finance, the technology is really about information sharing. If you have information or assets that you sell or buy online (which every entrepreneur online does)—you need to get up to speed on blockchain.
